A friend of mine just finished up his 300D, and still working on his wagon- PHOTOS!

A friend of mine has been working on his 300D, and just finished it. He is still working on the TD, and I will post photos as the become available. Here are some photos. Enjoy!

He also has a very uniquely customized 300TD that I will try to get some photos of.....Rich

LOVE it all the way down to the tires.

Tastefully customized, I say. The only thing I'd do differently, if it were my car, would be to have painted the roof white. But, I still think this looks fantastic.

As it is, this looks like midnight blue over china blue?

Love the picture of the engine bay

(though I don't see why the wipers were removed for that shot!)

I was fortunate enough to get to meet Mr Blue Nelson this last weekend and tour his amazing garage and see this wonderful car in the flesh. I had never seen a factory two tone w123 in person. He told me that he dug this car out of a property in Malibu and the removal of the car was a birthday present to the lady of the house. They placed a big bow in the spot were the car once was.... A present I'm sure a lot of wives would love to have 😜

This is a FACTORY two-tone W123? I didn't know they did that. It has to be an extreme rarity if true.

The engine bay doesn't look like my 85 300D! In many ways
Questions:
What is the device on right side center with cable leading to top of valve cover
what is the second tube to the air cleaner for?

That's an early engine, or maybe Euro, no turbo, manual transmission. Vertical HVAC, fabric interior.

The servo on the drivers inner fender is the cruise control.

Note no Bowden trans cable, due to a manual unit.

The line going to the air cleaner is from the vac pump, right?

A bit of Frankenstein, I think.

Nice tho.

Beautiful car! Obvious that countless hours of work have been put into it!

Pretty sure the hood is down but not latched in that photo. You can see a gap under the grill up front.
