Yoko Kobayashi was my friend's mistress in 2004 when I bought my first w123. I used her name as kind of a joke because her relationship annoyed me. (35 yo woman with a 70 yo man). Somehow it made me feel better imagining she was slumming with the MB mechanics instead of spending my pal's retirement money at the mall.

In 2009 she was diagnosed with stage four cancer and bam she died. So fast I didn't even have time to put down my Hazet wrench. Hard living caught up with her.

Now her name is kind of a memorial to keep her alive. She didn't deserve that kind of punishment. I feel uneasy logging in but it forces me to remember her.

Cool!! Yes Marathon was the other game. But Myth was the ultimate. There was else out there like it on Mac or PC. They were developing Halo at the time. I was online and playing when the announcement was made. You could feel the chill spread across the ether...big blue has bought It out. Bungee had gone to the dark side. It wasn't much longer that Xbox was introduced with the award-winning Halo.

Ah yes...those were the days my friend.

on the internet, nobody knows you are a clam

marathon/pathways/doom=good old days. haven't played in years, as life moves on, but dang it if I didn't enjoy the heck out of those games when they came out.

Pretty self explanatory. I swapped a 617 into my Toyota pickup.

Yup... When halo 3 or 4 came out, they included a map of the original game rendered in modern graphics... I nearly went and bought an Xbox to play it...

FYI... All three original marathon games are free ports for Mac, windows, and iPad... With modern graphics...
I'm just sayinn

Same as TX76513....

...mine's just where I live (in adjective form). Still living here. And I still don't have a garage (too urban). Shade tree all the way, except when too cold, and then I just suffer.

With all the talk of vintage video games, I am surprised nobody is reminiscing about ZORK or Adventure.

You young kids wouldn't know those, truly old-school computer games.

And just so my post isn't completely off-topic... I know nobody cares but regarding my screen-name: I went to college in NYC and wore shorts year round. This is normal behavior in CA, but not so normal during hailstorms in Manhattan. So i became known as the shortsguy throughout my college.

My 1987 300TD wagon was sold and my 2003 W210 E320 wagon was totaled (sheds tear).

Last name and initial of my first name. Before I committed to buy my 95, my first diesel, I was looking for a source for repair info. I was really just looking around the site and didn't expect to be on very long. That was in 2003. Back then, there were very few threads specific to w124 606na and the gasser thread total was a lot higher than the diesel total.

... was out shopping for a Unimog, stumbled across this interesting old 190D 2.5Turbo, bought it on impulse, and joined this forum to find out what I had bought.
