OM617 Engine Swap in 240D

The parts car is gone and this morning I drove the 240D back into the garage. I'm going to start my swap today and plan to document much of it here in this thread.

The engine is from an 85 (I'm aware of the pilot bearing issue) and the 240D is an 83 with a 4 speed.
