The od stopped working at 208k but the PO had it for 2 years and it didn't work for her either. I'm thinking she has to have close to 230k. But the engine is running strong and she jumps a little out of first gear. But other then that it's a great car.

My 1984 300SD has 360,XXX miles on the original engine and transmission. The transmission is in suspiciously good shape though, I suspect a PO had it rebuilt. Is there any good way to tell whether or not this has been done?

327,000 Miles On Original Engine, I am in process of swapping a used one in now. The old engine didnt like being ran 6 qts low on oil at 75 MPH, and it developed a knock. Still ran fine I was just tired of getting that 'why dont you fix your car you dumb a$$' look.

85SD stopped counting at 240,000. Engine & tranny original. Been in the family since new. I guess it's time to fix the odo - after I get the hood repaired. Note to self: Don't EVER leave hood unlatched thinking you'll remember to close it before driving.

Currently 488k on the 300D but I replaced the engine at 438k due to low compresion and the tranny at about 250k for the usual reasons. The 240D is just a pup.

I'm driving the 300D from CO to NJ this weekend.

414,000 KM Yes In Canada eh....
Had a different head at 386,000KM (#14) as the lady who owned it before blew a rad hose in traffic in a tunnel in Vancouver. I think its the original tranny shifts great but every now and again it has a wierd "slide" shift point.
The body/interior are great its not perfect but great looking car !

My 1980 300CD just rolled over to 268k on a working odometer. Runs great! I do think the tranny might need to be rebuilt soon though, it flares on occasion.

I bought Elvira new in 1984 and 25 years later, she only has 225K miles on her - engine and trans are original - I still have all the original paperwork, including the window sticker.

My 84 300 DT has 284,000 on the origional engine and transmission. Runs great, and shifts great now that I figured out the kickdown switch went bad and it blows no smoke...and I mean no smoke at all. Everything works including the A/C! My 420 SEL has 220,000 but it leaks oil, but still runs great. My 1977 450 SL has 107,000 on it and runs perfect with no leaks whatsoever!
