not a thing, no money in it. if there was a market I would pursue a solution, but each time I post an exploritory thread with a solution the thread goes off on a tangent and in the end no one wants to pay anything to put a non stock trans in their car.

I posted a thread about a getrag 265 5 speed to 61X bell for around $600 that would be a bolt in with stock over the counter BMW and MB parts. the thread went so far off on a tangent I deleted it. I could design and make a spacer plate to bolt the W201 getrag 5spd to the 61X engine for a similar amount but it is not as good a solution in my opinion due to the starter postion and bolt alignment issues. At this point I have a 5 speed for a 617 so the work was strictly for a modest profit and as a way for guys to get a 5 speed but there just seems to be too much risk of getting stuck with an expensive tool or a lot of metal and no market. I got a great deal on my 5 speed at $500 and another $300 for a shifter. so I feel like the numbers I am quoting are not so far off and the availability of transmissions and parts is much, much better. I waited 1.5 years for a transmission and another 6 months for a shifter from Germany. Ive seen the w123 5 speed kits go for 2K.
