The sun is out and this is the first chance I've had to sit at my desk...phew...

My 5yoS has T-ball practice tonight for our regional Challenger League (open to kids with development delays and physical challenges) which groups a few towns together in the central CT region for 6 teams. Practice should be fun, he's been playing catch with his big bro' for a few weeks now. I can't picture him making it through a practice without deciding he wants to do something else.

Have fun at the practice Swamp ... you're going right? I can't wait to see my son involved in some group activities like that.

I feel like Chuck Norris right now since my wagon is no longer in charge. I finally overcame all the crap and will have the motor mounts, engine shocks/mounts, and oil cooler lines done in about an hour or slightly more. I just need to run out and get some blue thread lock to put on the oil filter housing coupler so it won't unscrew out of the housing next time. I was even able to save my oil cooler by chasing the threads ... it holds with no problem. We'll see how good it is once I start it up and get some pressure in there.

My band is practicing tonight, trying to get ready for a gig we've got coming up. We just changed our name (due to some changes in who is in the band).

I've also got movers coming to move some of my office peeps across campus into a new building we've renovated. No more running across campus (it's a big campus, that's a 20 min walk) to see your professor, when you havee a class, or when you (well, I) need to fix a computer. Our two buildings are now right next to each other.

Gotta go pick up a door catch for my washing machine at lunch, so that water will maybe stay inside the machine from now on.

It's good to be a gangsta.

Congrats! Did ya drink it yet?

Work is the same as it has been the past month, crazy. My boss who's been out with his knee replacement got a hernia over the weekend and now needs surgery on that. So it'll probably be another 2-3 weeks before I get any reinforcement. Makes the days fly by, though!

5yoS has practice again tonight. I was really looking forward to it again but he along w/son #3 and daughter have been hacking, not sleeping and snot infected for 3 days now. I'm not sure he'd make it through practice. He was only semi-interested last week, he got to hit off the tee and practice throwing but he was more interested in running around with some of the other players' siblings there.

I had a great time working with an older kid with Down syndrome, I'm guessing he was early teens (my son is definitely the youngest, the oldest kid is probably 14-15), with throwing and catching. He was playing catch with his brother who took off with my oldest to got pitch and hit on a different field. Between my kids and coaching my oldest son's Little League team last year it was the first time I've had a kid listen to me. It's great to watch the kids have such a great time and really helps put life back into perspective. My son Garrett got our priorities straight 5+ years ago, but every now and then a refresher is in order. And appreciated.

she can... sit for days on end in the same spot

which is good, that means she is comfortable in her home and w/e.
She is amusing to watch when she eats. She will stalk her prey then pounce, then with 4 crickets in her mouth she like dances around the cage, then promptly wraps the crickets in silk and sucks them dry. Nature

That's some kind of "Zen spider," Don. Maybe she'll start doing some Kung Fu moves soon.
