Ok. What is this "Friends with benefits" stuff mean?

So here I am sick as dog tonight and my daughter and her friends come home ad she is crying in tears because her boyfriend broke up with her.(Thank God I never liked him). So of course me,my wife and her friends have to listen to the whole damn thing. All the crying and the whole 9 yards. So she tells us the whole thing and I understand all of it untill she comes to the part where her mother asks her "Are you still friends?". She says not now becasue he wants to be "Friends with benefits" What the hell does this mean. For some reason no one tonight have given me an answer. I have an idea I think of what it is. Hopefully I am wrong.

It means they aren't "boyfriend/girlfriend" anymore but will still have sex with no strings attached. Good for the guy, not so much for your daughter.

Oh my God. Dont tell me that. Well I hope I dont run into that problem. Yes you are right about that. Not like it use to be. What went wrong? I was not perfect as a child but some of this stuff its crazy.

I think the scientific term is ****buddies.

The term "friends with benefits" has varying degrees of severity and by-laws, though. Guys tend to like this approach to relationships more than women do, but I know a lot of women who like the no-strings business as well. I think most high school relationships are "friends with benefits." I mean not a lot of kids are pondering marriage in the 10th grade. I think just the terminology has changed over the years.

Usually, you have a friend or friends with benefits when you are a little older. Often, the people involved have the kind of busy schedules that would preclude a serious relationship. For those, if they find someone they like, they "hook up" every so often and tear a piece off. People who are not in such a position go and have a beer instead.

Why do think it is "Good for the guy"? I fail to see why you would say that, even if you maybe you meant something that may have escaped me, if you are talking about teenagers, or for that matter, people much much older.
