Would you feel comfortable being friends or doing business with someone who shot a 17-year-old unarmed teen to death?

We're not talking about Bernie Goetz here, where the fight was 4 on 1, they had sharpened screwdrivers, and they may or may not have been out to mug him. We're talking about someone bringing a gun to a fist fight that should never have happened.

There is no way that an individual found not guilty by jury verdict could ever have committed the crime that he was accused. Which reminds me that the late Johnny Cochran indicated during the OJ trial that the true murderers were Colombian drug lords. Any line on those guys?

I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son. And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities. We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that’s a job for all of us. That's the way we can honor Trayvon Martin.

We sorted this out back in the 1930's. Hand guns are restricted here. You can own one but the use of said weapon has very strict limitations. We never had a 2nd Amendment here; the sure and eventual down fall of American society.........

About 400 gun deaths in Canada per year. The city of Detroit has more every year and that's only city of many. Things never happen by accident, everything has a cause.
There is no PC about this. GZ may be '' not guilty '' but his actions went a long ways towards the eventual outcome. I wonder if he will also get his gun back? The next time will be self defense, you can bet on that.

2nd Amendment isn't the downfall of American society. Unhealthy obsession with guns, as is the case in many Southern and Western states will be the downfall.

Your little neighbor to the South -- Vermont -- has unrestricted carry and the most lenient gun laws in the country. You don't hear about many school shootings or fools like Zimmerman doing their thing. Why? Because while it may be legal, fear to the point that people feel the need to carry a pistol everywhere isn't in the culture there.

We're talking about level of maturity, not height and weight.

Criminal asshattery. Dude is a puke, the butt-ugly boy for the year. I'll give him this, he's the perfect poster boy for the 'my gun gives me wood' contingent, well represented in our land today.

Looked like it all started when Z took his cell phone out of his pocket and the perp assaulted him......then ground and pound and poor George thought little 5'11" 158 pound Trayvon was going to kill him.

Fact is, Zimmy (the supposed martial arts hotshot) shot an unarmed teen in the heart and watched him bleed to death. Care to invite him to dinner in your house and have him babysit your kids afterward while you run to the store to a bottle of wine?

Not to mention that he had a restraining order against him for beating an ex-girlfriend. Flunked out of school too. Guy sounds like an inept little bumbling coward and a bully as well. Charming. His existence is its own punishment, whether he's in prison or walking free.

The fault lies with Trevon Martin. Had he had the strength to disarm Zimmerman and had he then shot and killed him, we would not be having this discussion.

Honestly, he'd be waiting for the electric chair right about now.
