That'll solve the problem as long as we target "them" and not "us'.

Sarcasm?

While no one is ever "totally innocent" in pretty much anything, the fed spent years in legal proceedings and then executed a court order . . . and then successfully "de-fused" a potentially life threatening confrontation with para-military types . . . some credit seems to be deserved.

Actually, mowing them down with attack helicopters would be a bit harsh, wouldn't make for good TV so I say if they don't disperse, put em under siege. Starve em out. If they try to break the siege line with armed force, then shoot em.

This is about the rule of law, something I thought Republicans were big on. But maybe that was only regarding Bill Clinton lying about getting a bj from a willing adult woman.
Wow. I don't know if you are being facetious or not but if not, we agree.

I think not. It would send a message about what not to do in future. After all, you don't bring a knife to a gun fight. Go in with overwhelming firepower and make an example of them.

Seriously? You are expecting backbone from a politician? What exactly are you smoking or shooting up. Politicians, Republican, Democrat or Independent all have one thing they do in common. Wet their finger and stick it up to see which way the wind blows and face that direction.

What credit would you like to see? The idea that if I don't want to do something and they make me, all I have to do is round up a bunch of armed rednecks and they won't make me? Do you give credit to a parent for getting their kids to stop throwing a fuss by giving in to their demands when they scream and yell?

I have known a lot of folks like Bundy. There is nothing new is what he is saying. I have been hearing this for over fifty years from people living in the west. I always thought it was odd to hear people wail on about not believing in the US Government while at the same time happily cashing their soil bank checks.

What is interesting to me is that Bundy has said nothing that Rush Limbaugh has not said many times in the past and Republicans think Rush is the smartest human that ever lived. If you ever want to hear a Conservative defend someone then just say something critical about Rush and then stand back.

So Rush says the same thing Bundy says and he is a true hero, while Bundy says the same thing Rush says and Conservatives can't scramble away fast enough.

Is that what Conservatives call 'sticking to their principals'?

You seem to think this is over and settled.

Why?

So perhaps Bundy and his group should be pepper sprayed?

It has already reinforced a bad precedence. What else could happen to undo that?

Do you mean the occ-commies who were positioned all about with scoped rifles? Oh, wait . . .

Where's Henry Hyde to go on about 'THE RULE OF LAW' when you need him?

A bad precedent would be body bags over cows, grazing fees and money.

they are only looking to cover their backside so as not to create another 'customer relations' fiasco like they did at WACO.

finally, an investigative reporter has their SH** down cold.

quote from the article:

Malcolm Gladwell: An Insider Reflects on the Waco Standoff : The New Yorker

I came out the little driveway on the side of the building and got onto the main driveway that ran along the front of the building. As I turned the corner . . . one of the agents outside a tank started screaming at me to come over to him. My left ankle was all blistered, the skin was rolling off my hands, and my face was burned down the right side of my neck where the mask had been. I guess I took the mask off after I got out. It was kind of melting onto my face. . . . He was cussing me out, telling me if I made a false move he was going to blow my so-and-so head off. But he said: you’re gonna remember this day for the rest of your life. I thought: at least that is a true statement. ♦

The only thing stopping the BLM from going WACO on Bundy is fear of a public relations fiasco like what happened in WACO. Immediately after the WACO incident, I spoke with more than one individual who felt the Branch Davidians "got what they deserved'.

You do realize that pretty much everything you wrote is exactly what the BLM, aka "feds" avoided. There were substantial lessons learned from past incidents, yet there is this need to believe that every confrontation must be a repeat of "Another Ruby Ridge/Waco event"

It would seem that there's a group that would like nothing better than for this to turn into a shoot out. Why is that?

This exactly. Those who start hollering about it are itching for another one.
