I admit to having intentionally done it many times when I lived in the Washington D.C. suburbs. A traffic light at EVERY city intersection just is an unreasonable impediment to progress.

Now, living in the boonies, we don't have stop lights but we do have stop signs. With a clear sight line and no hazards to yourself or anyone else, I say go for it.
