Actual Diesel Fuel Economy
Yes ~ I am always pleased when my '84 300CD's OM617 gets 24 MPG's .
I recently got one tank full at 27.5 MPG (I do mileage checks at every fillup) and I wonder how the hell that happened . My '82 20D used to get 27~ 32 MPG's routinely depending on where I drove it, it loved crossing the Mojave Desert @ 60 MPH with the AC on, I once got 34 MPG's out of a tank of fuel ans was flabbergasted . The key seems to be not flooring it all the time and keeping the cruising speeds down so to avoid the wind resistance penalty .

Apart from the paint job, it's bit tamer than my 300D was that I drove when I met my now wife. She about cried when I sold that car.
That being said I'd buy it up if it was closer and for about a $1000.

I'm going to look at a non running W210 diesel when possible. I'll give it a compression check and injector crack before I buy.
I hope I can pull a Jake12tech I'm also going to check out a W124 E420 non running due too electrical, will compression check it as well.
