Wow, that looks sick with the AMG front spoiler. Nice color, too.

That Mazda pickup yours?

The air dam should boost your mileage a bit....an mpg or two?

I don't think so, but who knows ... shaving weight, shaving parasitic drag off the engine, maybe some resistence lessened somehow ... but the chin, hmmm

It looks cool, who cares .

Just a question out of curiosity -- what is your ultimate goal with this project? Fuel economy? Power? Both?

My original goal was a pretty fast, durable, mod'd simple machine which is a true hybrid, that is, burned #2 and WVO, or any combination of the two. That "goal" started off circa 2008 with my first MB, 1985 300D Cali Car. That car got totaled. Then, I went thru a few lemons before I got my current DD which is now lemonade ... lol.

I currently have most of the parts for the goal, just a few missing pieces. Now, however, the car is being "restored" and prettied-up, which was not the original goal.

Time for some EZ Peezy stuff

Installed my refurbished battery tray. Overall, probably a poor use of time since a brand new one from MB is around $60.00. Between bead blasting, paint, et cet., but it's done.

AND, mocked up my 60 plate HE and homemade fittings. Seems at least this will fit without a bunch of R&D. Battery behind the back seat is also working out better than thought.

Now, on the prowl for some material to make an insulated cover. I had this really nice helicopter engine blanket or at least a panel of it, but that's apparently gone ... lol .. and I have not seen any lately at the surplus auctions or FleaBay. Any ideas ? I want something which can be sewn with a zipper vs. the stick on stuff.

W123 Attention Deficit

Instead of focusing on my red leather interior, I got a little side tracked. Got this premo item: 2:65 LSD from a W116 (M100 6.9). Total Luck and Timing, got it while in Fort Wayne, IND last week. Very heavy sucker, e.g., 89 pounds. I will post some pics of the re-fresh of seals, et cet, as well as axles, et cet.

I am 98% happy with the work. Some tiny details, but the price was very fair and generous overall. I can fix the few picky items myself. I am now forced to paint the whole car. LOL. The front clip's color is how this car most likely looked when it left Germany. I really like the "new" color alot.

Got my AMG chin finally installed. Front clip is now rust free and blemish free. I hope to get the bumper and grill finished and installed so that I can drive it around this weekend.
That's bout the same color I am painting the 39 Studebaker.

It's not a battery. It's a HE.
