Mother Earth's Pure Sweet Diesel: $2.59 gallon.

By Labor Day gasolene will probably exceed $3 per gallon with diesel around $2.75.

Where do you get that info? I haven't seen any news on this but it would be welcome.
My friend owns a gas station and says diesel may be headed higher, unless Calif is different that the East coast or something.

$1.12 per GALLON???

What are you guys talking about? The first several posts were talking about diesel fuel in W. Michigan and California at like, $1.12 for diesel fuel. In
W. VA, it was $3.29 last week. In GA, it's $2.73/gallon. How are you coming up with these low prices?

Just go back in time 5 years; this thread started on 3-15-2002 I remember thinking back in '02 that premium gas that was over $1.399 a gallon was outrageously too expensive.

Ah yes, the good old days! But back to post-Katrina reality -

So yesterday, I was driving up Route 1 in a friends car, and spotted a price of $2.80 at a Hess station, while RUG is now around $3.10 in my immediate neighborhood and the diesel stations are asking $3.00. Wasn't sure if that $2.80 was for diesel or cigarettes.
So today, while out doing several errands in 'Miss Diesel' my '82 240D (I HAVE been attempting to conserve by trying to plan/consolidate my driving)
the Hess happened to be on my route and their diesel was indeed $2.80. So I guess 'Miss Diesel' will be getting a workout until the diesel price pendulum swings the other way, or summer gets too oppressive to drive without AC, whichever comes first!

Happy Motoring, Mark

Hess stations around here are considerably cheaper than other brands. Makes me wonder why. I had some problems with my TE after using Hess premium (fuel distributor).... Now with the Hess ULSD I noticed a drop in mileage after a couple of fillups (20.5 mpg down to 18.7).

You guys have it so good in the US when it comes to fuel/diesel prices.

Diesel: I just filled up here in Sydney this morning at $5.70US gallon ($1.51per litre x 3.78=$5.70)

Petrol: mixed with 10% ethenol is $5.48 and premium 98 octane $6.00per gallon

Stuck in 1 hour traffic each way to get into the city for work - it adds up.

4.09 In NorCal

Paid that this morning. I'm listening to a book as I drive to work everyday.
It is an interesting read. Petrol based products may take a dip or two in price, but will never again go and stay under 3.50 again.

See what you guys think of this book:$20 Per Gallon: How the Inevitable Rise in the Price of Gasoline Will Change Our Lives for the Better by Christopher Steiner, Grand Central Publishing (2009).

Diesel IS cheaper again...

I'm visiting Grand Rapids, MI, and saw a Speedway with $3.98 RUG vs. $3.96 D2. First time in a looong time I've seen D2 cheaper than RUG. I wonder if that relative difference in cost will continue as home heating oil demand drops in the coming weeks. Probably not.

Diesel is about $1.30 a gallon, with unleaded 87 around $1.15, premium is about $1.34. Diesel in this area of eastern PA has typically been somewhere between unleaded plus and premium gas. Only once, for a couple weeks maybe two years ago, was diesel cheaper than regular unleaded.
