Do as is permitted and encouraged in the Constitution. And yeah, sometimes it's inconvenient to live in a free country. Call it the price of democracy in action. Your meat grinder example fails, since that's using violence against an innocent party. The protestors were sitting down on the sidewalk, not marching with pitchforks and torches.

Don't like what's going on? Like the streets spotless? Move the hell back to Singapore. Funny and sad how you came here and never really assimilated.

Okay fine maybe they shoulda been waterboarded then. It's non lethal and temporary. Your favorite! It seems like anything goes when you're dealing with these pesky peaceful protesters as long as you don't kill them. Is that the right wing nut job position?

Nobody is stopping them as long as they are not purposely trying to inconvenience anyone else. As said before, your right to wave your fist stops at my nose.

When Copps (grocery store) decided to have one vote to go all union or all non-union, the union lost. They ended up hiring people to carry picket signs up and down the sidewalk. NEVER blocked anything, disrupted commerce, etc, etc. I support that right.

I DO NOT support the right for someone who is pissed at you because you are an abortion doctor to lay on your driveway so you cannot get out because they felt the law failed them. Or perhaps you feel that they should have that right to hamper you simply because they felt they needed to get the message across one way or the other?

That has worked so well around the world and the US.

aklim, what is your understanding of what property or person the poice were trying to protect? I take it that you believe than any resistance to a lawful order to move warranted the use of chemical force.

Big difference between physically injuring someone and inconveniencing them slightly. Are you blind or just obtuse?

If they obey the law, then fine. If they refuse to obey the law or follow orders from the police then they need to be ready for what's coming to them.

No, they shouldn't be killed. Of course, the only ones so far who have been killed has been by their own hand.

One of the biggest problems facing our country today is that there are so many people like you that feel that the law is not to be obeyed.

Disagree. One of the biggest problems is that too many bio-robots in this country blindly obey the law. The 99% are too law-abiding while the 1% does what it wants.

And are you saying that orders from the police are always right?

Often, the strength of laws is not in their permanence, but in their ability to be reviewed, modifed and revoked as it best serves the people who enacted them.

Yes I do. If you feel the order was not legal, there is a venue to dispute that.

All orders? So if a cop told you to sodomize yourself with his baton, you'd do so without complaint, then go to court?

Not really. Many feel that the law should only be obeyed if it is beneficial to them. So because I feel that you, the scumbag that you are stole from me and we went to court and I got a judgment against you, the court is good. Should the judge rule against me and say I have no case, the court sucks. Well, somebody is going to be feeling unhappy at the judgment. So someone is going to say the court sucks. Either you stole from me or you didn't. The court cannot please both of us. Much like the high profile SC issues. One side will say the court is right and the other says the court sucks. Why? Because the first side got the judgement going their way and the 2nd side didn't. As I said, we respect the law and courts only when they side with us.

Police are like everyone. They can be wrong but we have a means to address that LEGALLY. Use it.

And if the means is unfairly slanted in favor of the cops? Sometimes vigilantism is necessary. Not necessarily violent vigilantism -- posting the video of the pig doing his thing and his name has been enough to wreck the pig's life for the next year or so.
