Yes, the concealed carry trend apparantly has caused this. When there's a chance that someone might be armed, the crack heads and other bad guys, proceed more cautiously.

( What prize goes to the 1000th post?)
Gun technology.

150 years ago, I might have had 4 muzzle loading long rifles over my mantle and my percentage of gun ownership to the individual would be high.

However, not a single one of those weapons would be as immediately dangerous and easy to use as even a small snubnose .38

No, you are not right.

The cited articles have nothing to do with the mass shootings and everything to do with crime in their neighborhood. So, don't confuse the two issues.

The run on gun sales is simply due to the panic buying because of the perceived restrictions that will be coming. You did hear Obama..........didn't you? Everybody runs and buys more weapons and ammo.

really? nothing to do with the mass shooting?

what was the title of the article?

Gun Sales Up After CT Shooting: Store Owner

Again, apart from your need to be right or wrong on this silly point, we are both right. As demonstrated by the quote from the article I posted, that family bought a weapon for home protection. They did it at this time probably because they feel restrictions on gun ownership are coming.

Stop being silly and angry, and read the article.

Here is a better idea:

We just need to invent the personal shield. Everyone gets one, bam, more deaths from shootings. We would just waste ammo and damage the environment.

MS Fowler is right, we are asking the wrong questions. Why are people so angry ?

Drop/Brian: I believe you both are right. Increased sales due to 1) desire for protection 2) fear of increase in gun control laws. 3) Sales.

Really? They don't just ensure that they themselves are carrying weapons which increases the likelihood of their victims being injured or killed?

I dont know/think if we can attribute the drop to this 100%. Perhaps some but not entirely.

I read the article.

Fundamentally, everybody buys a weapon for "protection", so, if that was your intent, then you're right. Congratulations.

The reason that there is a run to the gun stores after a mass shooting is the perception that guns will be regulated in the future. If that wasn't the driving force, there would be no run on the gun stores.

"Silly and angry"??

Stop being patronizing when you're incorrect and you use the press as your argument. Think for yourself, for once in your life.

bold one and bold two. Tell my you don't see the inconsistency here? Im right but im also wrong? are we gonna pull on two legs of a plastic action figure next?

Stop being a brat requiring patronization, simple as that Brian. Ive said before, I get it, you are angry. You are also smart, and can think, and therefore would already see that both our opinions are supported by the facts of this article, and both of us are more or less right. this whole latest pissing contest is silly and stupid.

I wonder how many post number 1000's have existed on this forum over the years. You are definitely in a class by yourself.

There is no inconsistency. Fundamentally, people will run to the gun store because they believe weapons will be regulated. The underlying issue of "protection" is obvious. They don't run to the gun store simply because they need "protection".

Call up your mother.........she can put a salve on your hurt feelings. It's become an ongoing thing with you. You don't like my conclusions so you attack the method and the delivery. It's bullshlt.

He found it in the press, therefore it must be true.

Reminds me of my father, rest in peace. He once flatly stated that the info on the TV has to be true or they wouldn't be allowed to put it up.
