Bought a pristine '87 300D with 72k in 2005 for $3500. A/C was working when I bought it, but not right now. No other issues. 120k on it now.

Just bought a perfect, dealer-maintained 2000 e320 4matic wagon with 50k for $9000. Nice car for my wife. The only thing that scares me is that it already had about $10k in service done on it before the warranty expired.

Bought 1994 E320 with 69,000 miles on it in 2002 for $13,995 in pristine condition. Replaced the water pump immediatly due to slow leak. A tie rod assembly at about 100K, and that was it until it hit about 150K. No regrets.

Bought my 300TE in mid 2006 for $3000...and with every dime spent on it including tires etc...I've spent about $2500 on her. At least half of that money was trying to resolve my misfire. Another quarter was on the head and valve job.

She is yet to leave me stranded on the road.

Well, apparently I paid too much for mine . . .

That's okay, though. it wasn't THAT much and I have a great time driving them and learning how to fix them.

Hahaaaa! Yes,it is an old thread, but at least it's a good one.

I bought my 1989 300E a few months ago for $1,500 U.S. and it currently has around 215K miles on the clock. I'm very happy with it so far! In fact I LOVE this car!

I'll get pics up soon as I never remember to take any, besides it needs a good post winter detailing job first. People where I work don't believe that I only paid $1,500 for it because it hides it's age very well and looks very good overall. It's classic white with dark red leather,a very uh..."proper motor car" as they say.

I have slowly been trying to bring it up to snuff maintenance wise with new 215/60/15 Kuhmo tires, new muffler etc. It still needs a few things such as an antenna mast, window switch repair,tune-up etc. but I'm working on it.

Some very good friends of mine have always had Mercedes and now after owning this iconic 300E I can really see the appeal. I love driving a car that was built with state of the art safety equipment(@ the time) and a "no expenses spared" attitude.

Our daughter is graduating H.S. soon and I may have to find her a nice little 190E as a gift.

With new cars the BEST day if the FIRST day you own them. It's all down hill after that. I'll never buy a new car again, newER maybe, but not new.

1996 E320

Just picked up a 1996 E320 for $3700 with 123,000 miles on it. Interior needs a good cleaning and prior owner was a smoker, the body is in very good condition. Has complete records and mostly dealer serviced, head gasket, wiring harness, spring perches, water pump all done by previous owner.

When I got it blower motor wasn't working, I rigged up the 140 resistor and it's good to go.

Sun roof doesn't retract, I've taken the glass cover off to inspect and it looks like it will need a bit or work, the cable is stuck.
