Speaking of drain plugs, does the block heater element replace the drain plug????

braverichard 10-20-2004 11:09 AM

What drain plug? If you're asking about the engine block coolant drain plug then the answer is no. They co-exist together.

The Block heater is about 4 inches higher and 4 inches further back on the motor than the coolant drain plug. If yours isn't there it has a 19 MM hex plug in it that REAL BIG.

Sorry, this is a security alarm that I am speaking of.

Easy test
Open driver window.
Set in driver seat.
Reach out and lock door with key.
Put key in pocket.
Open driver door with inside handle.

If alarm goes off, close door, lock with key, and unlock with key, it should be off now.

The factory alarm uses the vehicle horn, and lights.

An actuator and servo are the same thing; it's the thing that actually makes something move when you send a signal to it.

I believe that this switch is the grounding switch that allows the blower to operate. When cold, the blower doesn't work until the engine gets up to a certain temp. This switch closes and allows the blower to function.

That should be the pressure switch that will trip the overboost protection valve if the manifold pressure exceeds 15 psi.

That kinda makes sense. My blower was acting funny. It was working fine, then it stopped, and a minute later it started again. Maybe the line was flopping around grounding itself out.

It's easy to test it..........and confirm the issue.

bbeardb 04-05-2006 11:08 AM

If that is a grounding switch for the blower motor, where would the water temperature sender unit be?

That one should be on the driver's side of the head, near cylinder #3 or so, IIRC.
