As a new owner myself, this is really useful stuff.
Thank you all. Kevin (85 300SD on a car transporter somewhere) |
WHunter, I like the way you think!!
We really really really need to have this made into a sticky! With guys like you, Randy and Greg (and others....but Randy and Greg are local and very vocal) newbies like me stand a much better chance of happy motoring! Thanks for your efforts! |
Bump, this thread needs to be a sticky!
|
So now I can say I'm known as the guy with the gunky tank filter and algae crawling up the tank filler! Glad to be part of the project...

If I had such diagram some months ago I would have had a much easier time performing a cooling system service on my car. Oh by the way: Location of Engine Block Coolant Drain Plug for OM617.95x motor: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/695856-post8.html |

One day maybe I can come up with something to help you guys :) Anyone need tips on furniture restoration/woodwork project? :) Cheers, Bill |
Speaking of drain plugs, does the block heater element replace the drain plug????
|
What drain plug? If you're asking about the engine block coolant drain plug then the answer is no. They co-exist together.

Edit: Wait, I get it. The door alarm, headlight alarm, etc. 2nd Edit: Well, doesn't work, but still good to know where it is. Thank you very much Whunter. |
Sorry, this is a security alarm that I am speaking of.
Quote:
Easy test Open driver window. Set in driver seat. Reach out and lock door with key. Put key in pocket. Open driver door with inside handle. If alarm goes off, close door, lock with key, and unlock with key, it should be off now. The factory alarm uses the vehicle horn, and lights. |
Cruise Actuator?
Could someone please post a pic or location of the cruise actuator?

I have some more.
What's this? I assume it is my temperature sensor. But I just drove around with it off and temperature still registered. |

This looks like the same thing but it's by the banjo bolt.

And sorry for this, but I'm a turbo idiot. I would take it off just to see, but I was afraid it might start squirting oil all over me, so I'd ask first.

If that is a grounding switch for the blower motor, where would the water temperature sender unit be?
