Yes, because none seem to exist (Or haven't been found yet) and if found in a barn Mercedes would likely send me one heck of a check to take it off my hands

Gullwing would be nice, but impossible

190SL's are cute too... The pricetag, not so much.

And then I went looking on Craigslist and I came across a 180... I think I'm in love. (the one I found is red though)

Dream car

I would like to find a 1995 E300D with a perfect body and interior but a lunched engine, then transplant a '98-99 OM606 turbo (less the electronics) into it. That would provide 170 HP instead of 130 and would retain the simplicity of the 124 chassis (compared to the 210) with minimum (meaning "none") smog stuff.

My existing 1995 E300D has a near-perfect body and interior but also has a near-perfect engine that I can't bring myself to throw away. I'll have to wait until something else comes along.

Jeremy

I'd have to say... an early 90's S-class diesel (S300? 300SD? can't remember the badge, I've seen both) w140-style, with pristine seats (ha), pristine interior, good suspension/undercarriage, no rust, a complete lack of electrical and "accessory" problems (do we have a :thatWillBeTheDay: smiley?) ... and a thoroughly trashed rod-bender under the hood, thus reducing the price to "dirt cheap"

My 300SDL body is absolutely in tatters, but the 603.961 in it has got a huge amount of head-replacing labor (mine and my dad's) in it and is my most trusted engine... the car itself needs to be moved on within the next year or two but I'd like to stay with that engine a while longer. Would love to upgrade to a w140 (even with the problems, I'd rather get a couple more years head-start on the rust and the worn out suspension bushings and so forth) but on my budget, the thing has pretty much got to be sold for cheap by somebody who says "car with a blown engine, how much can it possibly be worth, I just want it gone" and has no idea how relatively easy repowering it would be.

Hey, a guy can dream.
