Yup, keep me posted. You going to make us a hose kit too? What's the source for that parallel flow condenser you posted in another thread?

Not sure if/where this has been stated already, but...*which* Sanden compressor is the bracket being devised for?

Interested, let us know the final cost of the kit, what we'll need to source on our own, etc.

Sanden 508/709 or any other with same mounting pattern. Needs to have the double v belt 1/2 inch pulley.

Any Updates

Wonderin' if these kits are still being put together. I know that for most people on this board, AC is the last thing on their mind right now, but the 80F+ I'm dealing with down here in Florida keeps this kit in my mind

I still have to weld them and get everything cad plated. I hope to get some warm weather(and time) so I can get the welding done, as I can't do it inside my garage (packed full of stuff).

Add me to the list for qty 1, assuming you have verified it will fit a W123. I need to have one ready when my son returns with the 1984 300D, maybe June. The AC belt broke last summer, so probably the compressor siezed as it did in my 85 300D. Compressor turns now, but I pulled the relay to insure it stays off. Unfortunately, the AC belt flipped the power steering belt over and it cut into an oil cooler hose like a chainsaw. That made a mess and was a pain to change, but lucked out since the oil didn't run dry. I wrapped the oil cooler hose w/ steel wire to prevent a recurrance.

IFF it is a drop-in for the R4 in a w123, Id be interested.

Depending upon the level of custom work and compromise, I may or may not.

So put me as tentative...

I have been testing the bracket and a new Sanden on my 240 for at least a couple months. I just have the belt hooked up, but no hoses yet. I did have one issue with one of the mounting bolts coming off (used too short of a bolt DUH!), but it seems to be fine now with the longer bolt (nylon lock nut has something to hold onto now!). It seems that there is more room for the hoses on the 240, but it might just be that the compressor is lower on the gen-2 bracket than it was on the gen-1. I may get my A/C shop to make the hoses before summer, as it is a slow time for them now. I will take photos and post them.......Rich

This is for cars with the OM617 that have the compressor at the bottom of the engine on the driver side, not the big York unit up top on the passenger side, right? If so, I will be intersted in one for my 1980 W116 300SD.

I now live in Phoenix, Arizona, so having working air conditioning is a must (I already went through this last 115F summer without it). I am wanting to update the whole system to work on R134a, and upgrading to a Sanden compressor is part of it.

I was planning on having to fabricate a bracket to fit the Sanden unit, but if you offer one premade, I'd like to buy it and save some time. I'm looking at spring or early summer as a purchase date since I'm currently unemployed and have no money I can commit.
