Got it home today, and after unloading it I put in 4 new glow plugs and it fired right up. Runs very strong and smooth and drove very well for a rust bucket. Will make a great parts car for the blue wagon, with plenty left over to save a few others as well!

I don't know how you snuck out of Texas with a Chinablau wagon but you bring that back here immediately where it belongs!

Just kidding - I'm in Texas with a Chinablau wagon in my fleet.

Congratulations!!

This is quite encouraging for me concerning my TD restoration poll.

Poll: Sell as-is, or put back together?
The consensus so far is to put it back together, then sell. By the looks of your TD, I may have to follow suit and put mine back together. I sure like the color of yours WAY better

Well I hope someone else likes the color as well, at least enough to bid on it! The interior looks as good as the outside, as well as under the hood and under the car. Will post a link to the BAT listing when its up.

Gave the car it's first bath to get the dust off and get it ready to get some close up photos of it. And jacked it up as high as I could, (about 3') to get some photos of the bottom as well.

That is one beautiful car. You may have to hire an armored truck when you get the payment after selling it on BAT.

Wow looks very good.

Are you making money out of these projects?

(I hope I'm not being rude - I spend so much and don't expect to ever get it back - I can't imagine making a living from what I spend most of my spare time doing)

There used to be a blue W123 that got passed between several forum members - what ever happened to that - was it yours?

This car spent its whole life in TX with one family until about a year ago, when they brought it up to NY. Sold it to a young guy who is a diesel mechanic who had a few 300SD's. He sold it to me only owning it for six months, needing some cash for another project. Never drove it in the winter and put only a few hundred miles on it. Car now has only 144k on it and had over $12k of work done on it in the past few years.

No, I tried to buy it when it came to California but the seller was busy or something and I never was able to connect with them .

A member here really helped me out by hipping me to a gray market 300TD near Sta. Barbara, I bought it and still have it, SWMBO drives it and everywhere it goes, people comment on it and ask to buy it .

It's beige, I'da much rather had a pastel color but it is what it is .

I've been taking it back to original specifications, my KM speedo came and -was- near perfect but not quite good enough packaging caused the needle to get broken in transit from Russia .

I'll have it rebuilt and install it then only a couple more things to do .
