When Raquel gets home with the CD, I'll be installing the bluetooth hands free cellphone adapter along with the 8" subwoofer and amp. I hope to at least get everything wired behind the head unit.

I may have some time consuming modifications to do to keep the subwoofer stealth. I'm planning to mount it where the first aid kit goes in the rear speaker deck. The 8" sub should fit fine in that space using the first aid kit lid as a speaker grill. I have to test and see if I need to make a box or if some polyfill will work.

Squat. Slow and quiet. They say summer weather is finally coming tomorrow with some *gasp* sun, heat and humidity. I hate the weather but it's good for business. We need some grass killing weather! It'd be nice if the New England gardens got a little sun and warmth so that our first-time gardening customers don't get too discouraged.

Dialing for dollars today. Went out at lunch and didn't want to come back. What a nice day it is outside today. I hope it's like this on the weekend.

Well....
At this point who knows when Darby, John and the kids are coming back?

But then...
They left me the keys to all the toys !!!

Too bad it's so darned hot out here.

Even up a few thousand feet in shorts and a tank, is hot and sticky.

Smile Drove my old car again yesterday

On the road again...borrowed back the old '90 Smoke from the person I sold it to, and took it to the Mark Taper Forum at the Los Angeles Music Center to see the David Mamet play "OLEANNA" there.... (My g/f came for that event also.)

Here's a shot of it up in the California high desert yesterday.

I am in Fresno today, though, going home in the black AMG coupe again. That AMG of mine is far faster, noisier, and rougher compared to the '90 Smoke, a stock unmodified 560SEC pictured above which is smooth, quiet, slower, and wallows in fast turns compared to the AMG coupe.

Just another quiet relatively enjoyable day of being unemployed for me today. I just wrote an email to FN giving my feedback from the M240B I shot last week. I'm going running in a little while, and after that I'll take a drive up to Reno to see my landlady. I'm going to suggest screens for the windows, since I get a lot of flying insects coming in at night when I'm trying to cool the place off. After that I've got some pork chops to cook and some paperwork to do for a job I'm trying to get. Following that, it's beer-thirty.

We've entered our usual summer slowdown, seed has been sowed and fertilizer has been spread until the fall. Some heat and humidity to get those turf diseases and insects wreaking havoc would be nice.

I've been waiting for a logger with a cherry picker to come pick up a 25'L x 3' dia. section of old pine that came down in Friday's tornado. It's clear, no branches from the base to 18'. I'd hate to just cut it up since there's a lot of good lumber in it, but if the clown doesn't get it today/tomorrow I'm just going to cut it up and dump it with my other limbs and brush. I understand that they're busy with other big trees in town but you wouldn't think sticking to a time window would be that difficult (he was supposed to be at my house at noon).

I'm taking one step forward and two steps back today, counting the hours until I hit the road tomorrow afternoon. I'm heading to NC to the beach for the Fourth this year.

I attended my first military funeral service in Arlington National Cemetery yesterday. A friend's father who had been a naval officer was buried there. It was a very moving service with a full band, a horse-drawn cassion, and a twenty-one gun salute. Later I met all of the deceased family and friends. It was a lot more fun than you'd think, considering it was a funeral.

Putting on a coat of Zymol, 2/3rds done now so I'll finish it on Thursday (wax on/wax off). Here is a thread I started last week just after a sponge bath on the Benz (in case you-all don't get to the Vintage section that often): Some more pics of the '71 w108
