Sounds reasonable enough but I suspect the cost of such a thing would not. Sound reasonable that is.

Still, it would probably be cheaper than an F-22.

After their election debacle in Florida in 2000, they borrowed machines from Louisiana in a mid-term. About half the votes went to Edwin Edwards.

How do voters in 'vote-by-mail' prove their eligibility? I'm guess with some sort of ID, but perhaps there's something else?

I was unclear. What I attempted to say is that the voter ID laws that are supposedly intended to prevent people from impersonating other voters at the polls on election day would do nothing to address the situation discussed in the article posted by Dudesky. I agree that some sort of documentation should be required before being permitted to vote by mail.

My goodness, I didn't think that people would commit voter fraud. That's you, illegal.

What can be done to reduce the probability of fraudulent voting?

After reading the Fox article, there is no mention of how many of these dead people have actually recorded a vote. Their names have just not been removed from the rolls. Pretty lousy data base management, but does not seem like a case of voter fraud.

Well let's just leave those dead folks on the rolls! Problem solved.

I hardly think that is the answer. Just clean up and maintain the database. It's not hard or expensive. We are in the digital age, there is no excuse for such half-assed housekeeping of official records. Fire the dip**** in charge and give that job to some geek fresh out of community college. Less pay, better performance.

I'm with you, theoretically.

But reality is stranger than that.

It goes to court due to the Voting Rights Act. Gets tied up for years and costs local jurisdictions more than they can afford to fight the case. All the race baiting gets cranking. Its ****** insane.

Murder has always occurred and we have laws against murder. Maybe we should relax the laws.

Thievery ...

Robbery ...

Fraud ...
