Best brake pads I've found are Porterfield Racing pads. I hear a lot of complaints on the SLK board at MBNZ.org about the greenstuff squealing badly. I won't go into proper bedding procedures here...

Ditch the resonator, upgrade the muffler, and keep the cat. Along with the obvious illegality, the cat provides the "limited backpressure" actually required by your exhaust system to make more power....
