He needs content for the channel.

He does not know how to use a slide hammer properly. At the 1:00 or so mark, he is almost getting his fingers caught in the slide.

Using a slide hammer till tend to break parts, I'd be making some sort of screw puller. I'd also be pulling a bit, soaking with solvent , tapping back down and repeating. This breaks up junk holding things together. This back and forth also works with rusted bolts.

The factory method is to use the exact tool he used. Yes he might not have used the tool correctly, but that is the approved way to remove these injectors. I like to move the slide "back-handed" (pushing, not pulling). I feel it gives more speed and power to the slide.

The factory might not have taken into account leaking injector seals / carbon causing the injector to jam. Sure, slide hammering a non stuck inj is quicker but if I was doing these in any volume, I'd be making a screw puller to make things quicker.

Looking at the vid, he shows a few other cars. It seems that only the first few inj suffer this issue, I wonder why. Could it be that the cylinder head distorts causing loss of sealing? Maybe not enough heat treating at front of head causing the injector well to sink / top of inj mount to rise?

If there is no carbon leaking around the injector they can be removed by hand by wiggling them a bit, the slide hammer method was invented to deal with the stuck injectors.

Point is, it's not $18 and on your way. Count the special tools he's used...slide hammer appliance, rotary brushes, injector reamers, and a few more common tools like XZN sockets. And he didn't show or maybe didn't do an injector overhaul. That's all cost/hard work for the shade tree. If the injector was completely stuck, he'd have to pull the head and send it to be hot tanked. You need to factor that in to what you pay for the car.

For some reason the auto quote function isn't working so I'll do it manually.

This is where a screw puller comes into play. Slide hammers produce far less force than one would expect.

a screw type setup can apply magnitudes more force than a hammer setup - e.g. removing and installing ball joints or wheel hubs etc.

I have seen a shop remove the injectors from a BMW DI engine, they used a a setup which screwed on the injectors then used the cylinder head surface butted with steel pads as the reaction base to lift up the injector from the head.
