eatont9999, Thanks for the photos, and I will offer a couple of observations. 1) Check and make sure there are enough threads in the lock nut on the long bolt. If you use the flat washer and the lock washer, there might not be enough thread for the lock nut to do it's job. 2) The oil cooler lines are supposed to go on top of the bracket, not on the bottom. It appears that they are bent downward. If you are ok with them like that, then no harm done. 3) The rear compressor bolt needs to be put in the hole in the tab before installing the plate on the engine. I am sure you found out that you needed to remove the lower left plate mounting bolt in order to get the comp bolt in. It also may be easier to mount the comp on the plate, and install the compressor and plate as a unit. I have done it both ways, and it seems to be easier with the comp and plate together. 4) The third hole (closest to the crank) in the brace is there for the end of the factory screw to go into. It appears that your brace is sticking up a bit right above the pan. It is best to line all three screws in their holes before tightening any of the nuts. Also, leave the larger bolt loose in the plate, and tighten it last. There is no nut or new screw for the third hole, as it will hit and bend or break the tach pin....Rich

Question,

Is the fitting that gets added to the long metal pipe brass or aluminum? I believe the pipe is aluminum, not sure on fitting. I've called around and no one can so it unless they know

Both the pipe and the fitting are steel. It can be brazed or TIG welded. MIG will work too if you are good (I am not good enough to weld these with a MIG).

Well then..

I dropped it off at Amazon Hose and Rubber of Orlando.

Compressor is in, I just need to tighten the bolts ever so much so it can swing when being adjusted and then add the hoses.

Does the high side hose replace the hard pipe and flexible rubber hose sections?

Thanks for answering my stupid questions..I'm piecing together a DIY for the install.

Got my pipe back..wish I had them leave as much of the fitting as possible because I have next to Jo play to get the low side on. It's fighting me bug I'll get it. The fitting lays right against the body so I'm going to get a nice vibration now

Seriously, what the hell I've been going at it for 30 minutes and the damn fitting won't thread what's up with this crap?!

Both hoses that connect to the compressor come with the hose kit. The high side goes directly over the engine and connects to the condenser, and is held in place with the same clamp that held the former short hose that went to the factory hose assembly. That entire hose assembly can be removed and discarded or recycled. The low side hose (provided in hose kit) connects to the compressor and the fitting that was welded onto the hard pipe.....Rich

I saw that the ports are dummy proof which is nice. I finally got the fittings on and have noted no weird vibrations. Now to wait for the new ETR sensor and swap the dryer out on Saturday and charge up it.

Should I add oil to the dryer? I had to with the R4. Also the compressor shipped with oil, correct?

Rich, does your kit require a sanden compressor with horizontal ports? I picked up a compressor locally with vertical ports in a V configuration today. Is there enough room for the vertical ports under the oil cooler lines? If not I could rotate the compressor 90 degrees, but I would prefer the oil plug to be on top...

The compressor comes with 6 oz of oil for 134a, and the system should get a total of 8oz. I would suggest to add 2oz of oil/dye to the system before or during the charge process (recovery/charge machines have the capability to add oil in the charge process).

There is barely enough room for the hoses, and it is very difficult to tighten everything up. The hose kit is made for horizontal fittings, so NO the vertical port compressor will not work. You can get a rear port head for less than $15, so that is what I would suggest to do. You need the "K" head for a 5 cyl, and a "KG" (I think that is the model#) for a 7.....Rich
