That engine is the same one that powers my W210. It takes off like a startled cat once it hits 2k/min.

I can only imagine what it will do in an R107 body with a manual.

You were smart to swap IPs and get away from the 606.962's drive by wire pump. Those are an integration nightmare.

Good luck with the project, we can't wait to see it running.

I missed seeing Mach4's conversion when he came through NC and SC. I had to work that day and could not get away.

... WOW!

I mean, ... WOW!

this car will FLY!!! what rear diff are you putting in the car? keeping it stock? (I think stock is 3.27:1 rear gears... I'd think a 2.24 from a E420 would be a good match for that engine/body... flat out incredible top speed, and tremendous fuel economy... but with the manual, (5 speed I assume?) perhaps staying stock would make better sense.

I bought it from a stand at the Classic Car Show at the NEC but kept a flyer from the company. They're based in Nantwich in Cheshire.

The stud is a W124 wingbolt welded to a 20mm x 6mm bolt. (I just knew you were fascinated in that )

(and, BTW, what happened to your 'they don't like it up em' sig? I take it from that and your avatar that you're originally from Englandshire? )

And thanks for the + comments. Much appreciated. The diff is 2.47:1 and more on that tonight.

Some of these pics have been aired already on BW and STD at various times so sorry for the duplication. Just thought I'd bring it all together under one roof.

Thanks for the link and screw information.

Yes I'm an Englishman in Holland. I'm originally from an area in England that is about as far away from Scotland that you can get on the mainland. The user title changes with my ever changing moods at the moment - with my old user name I had a fixed title but since I started out with this new online persona I've been hunting for a good one (still searching).

I think I've mentioned before how nice it would be to have a cleared out garage like yours when you posted some pictures a few years(?) back...

...I'm still envious.

You're the guy with the custom leather interior in his SL aren't you?

Chapeau! You've done impressive work, absolutely no doubt.

My intent upon retirement in two years is also to build an R107 dieselied 380SDL.

I have the car, just need the engine.

Slowly impediments are falling by the wayside.

I just liquidated an estate house for my son, now the last thing is to temporarily board an 18 year old female in my house for a while.

Once she's gone, I'll be able to do more. Plus the weather's not great right now.

Well spotted. ex Saab 9000 but re-trimmed along with the rest of the interior after a garage flood a couple of years ago.

So I take it that this thread is a bit of a tease?

It looks like it is already done and dusted.
