Current inventory ...

I have the following for sale:
a turbo OM617 --- Strelnik bought the clean w123 body this was going into.
2 cylinder Lister on an 8KW generator
3 cylinder Perkins 3.152
4 cylinder Deutz F4L912
4 cylinder Waukesha

Wish the shop wasn't moving. I'd still like to drop the Deutz into a Dodge 1500 or F-150 or some such. Having an air cooled engine in a vehicle does have ONE major challenge --- how do you heat the cabin for the passengers?

Stewart and I were trying to get the yard to sell us the whole car but they wouldn't. I'm watching the yard like a hawk.

I get calls all the time (ads for 123 parts on CL) from people that need an engine. What we need to do is provide rust free bodies to the folks in the "rust belt" in trade for engines and transmissions. I have 3 parts cars all with good bodies and fair interiors, but all with bad engines (or used as engine donors) and/or transmissions. The 240 I have could actually be put back on the road if I had a decent engine for it. It has an automatic now (ugghhh), but I have a complete 4 speed setup available. I have been robing parts off of it (alternator yesterday for my 240 driver), so it would need a complete engine/trans donor. Maybe we could get our parts/cars together somehow and get some cars back on the road!

That's exactly what I plan to do with a body from daw_two and the engine from my 240

For storage put it on a pallet and drain the fluids. find a local warehouse, they usually charge around $20/month per rack location. Then it's out of the elements, safe in a warehouse somewhere with insurance on it.

How much for the Deutz? I remember reading a thread about a guy who repowered an old Ford or Chevy pickup and ran the thing on straight crude oil pumped from the ground out in the midwest. That would be way cool!

Email sent to keep the clutter down on this thread.

Here are some links about the old Ford repowered and running on straight crude or anything else for that matter --- you have to scroll down about half way to see the OLD Ford:

Maybe, but it's more of being jealous to be able pull off such a thing!
